A
charming, quiet fishing village on the Baja Peninsula bordering
the Sea of Cortez, the town's official slogan is "300 Years
Old and Still Undiscovered."
There is plenty to do here, but not the glitz and glamour
of the large Mexican resorts.
Loreto
is a fishing paradise for marlin, dorado, yellowtail, sailfish and
the highly prized rooster fish.
Whale watching is spectacular, especially when you spot the
huge blue whales that make this their breeding grounds.
Or go kayaking, scuba diving, golf,
beachcombing, or relax and enjoy the magical mountain vistas and
sunsets from your own private beach!
Loreto has a quaint downtown area with shaded plazas
(clean, safe and friendly), and great, reasonable restaurants.
You can boat to the nearby pristine islands of Coronado or
Carmen and snorkel in the crystal-clear water or sunbathe on soft
sand beaches.
